Centering Pages that use FrontPage Shared Borders

Ways to centre a page when using Shared Borders

When centering a page the most common method is to wrap the page contents in a container (usually a <div>, but could be a <table>) and making that container have a fixed (or maximum) width, then using CSS to centre the container. However, a page using FrontPage Shared Borders presents a few problems:

  • The complete page contents are not accessible, being in several different folders, so cannot be wrapped in a container.
  • The tables FrontPage uses to assemble the page have no identifying IDs or CSS classes to manipulate.
